The Precarious of Severe Asthma

Does severe asthma has to do anything with a bad outbreak? Research reveal that severe asthma shows characteristics totally different than chronic asthma and therefore it can be classified under a different section, altogether. This statement is made following a very interesting finding in which it was proven that there are key physiological differences between non-severe asthma and severe asthma.

The most common symptom indicated by patients suffering from severe asthma is inability to breath properly. Air trapping is a condition that obstructs full exhalation from the lungs in which the person would feel like there s air trapped inside the lung that he/she cannot get rid of. The airway blockage is another very common symptom experienced by asthma patients and it was recorded to continue even after full treatment. A study conducted by Severe Asthma Research Program (SARP) has collected data and have concluded that given the signs and symptoms of severe asthma, it can be classified as a different form of the disease.

According to the study, we know very little about asthma. The physicians have tried caring for severe asthma over the years using known medication and methods, with little or no success. Accroding to statistics, up to 10% of asthmatics suffer from severe asthma and they hardly respond positively to medication and treatment plans. The danger nonetheless is that patients are inclined to deadly attacks following continuous asthma attacks.

Usually, an asthmatic attack will follow after airways in the lungs narrow down or close. Therefore you may start coughing, feel your chest tightening, feel that you are short of breathe and would start wheezing. The condition exasperates when you become exposed to dust or allergens such as pollen or animal fur. In the case of severe asthma, attacks will come about frequently and will bring forth more pain and suffering to the person than in mild asthma. So, those who care for patients will have to keep a close eye on severe asthmatic patients and make sure that allergens do not get in the way to cause more infections.

Hypersensitiveness is another characteristic of asthmatic patients. So if you have a family member who suffers from severe asthma and if he/she loses temper quite often, there s nothing to worry about. Respiratory disorders, almost always irritates patients which affect the moods.  So be patient while you deal with patients with severe asthma.

Asthma can also be caused by an unhealthy place. Natural Asthma Treatment – Quick and Easy

without comments

Many individuals dealing with asthma try to use natural asthma remedies instead of loading up their bodies with chemicals. However, asthma treatment through natural remedies depends upon the trigger that started the attack.

Asthma has many different triggers or mechanisms that will start an asthma attack. Some of the numerous triggers are smoke, household cleaning products, stress, and even changes in barometric pressure.

The range of asthma treatment encompasses steroids, drugs and ongoing medical intervention. One immediate source of natural relief for asthma is to avoid known triggers. Unfortunately, you can’t escape some triggers that are prevalent in the environment.

Natural remedies, including stress reduction, can be used to manage triggers like emotional stress. Others rely on organic foods and herbal supplements that can help reduce the possibility of suffering an attack.

Another way of obtaining natural relief from asthma symptoms is to build up your immune system and reduce the constrictions of the air sacs found in the lungs. Adding aerosolized hydrogen peroxide to a humidifier enables the asthma sufferer to metabolize a greater amount of oxygen.

It’s been shown that using hydrogen peroxide in the humidifier raises the level of oxygen available for use. Adding the hydrogen peroxide will vaporize the product but will also bleach out the wall and curtains near the vaporizer. With careful use, and if your doctor permits it, hydrogen peroxide can be added to the equipment that delivers your bronchodilator.

This is a method that helps to eliminate some of the attacks and improve the immune system but it doesn’t address the underlying cause of the asthma. Other methods of decreasing emotional stress will also give immediate natural relief for an asthma attack caused by stress. Try using Reiki, which is a technique used to reduce stress, help you relax, and provide healing not only to your body but to your spirit.

In English, the meaning of Reiki is usually translated as “life force energy”. If your life flow is lowered, you are more susceptible to illness and stress problems. If Reiki is elevated we are happier, healthier and more in control. What Happens During an Asthma Attack?

without comments

It seems like asthma is becoming ever more prevalent these days. No doubt you’ve heard about it. But unless you actually suffer from the problem, you might not know what actually transpires during an asthma attack. If you suspect you have asthma, or just want to know more about it, here’s some important information.

Symptoms of an asthma attack include shortness of breath, coughing and a wheezing or whistling sound in your chest. It’s a serious situation, and can lead to death if untreated.

So what is it that sets off an attack of asthma? It can vary depending on the individual. Well known triggers include allergic substances like pollen, dust, environmental pollution, chemicals and smoke. In fact, allergies and asthma are very closely related. Things like a change in the atmospheric pressure, cold air, exercise or a common cold virus can also trigger asthma symptoms.

An asthma attack takes place within the air passage to your lungs. The opening and closing of your airways are controlled by a specific muscle. You don’t have any control over this muscle; it’s totally automatic. However, it can be caused to tighten by certain irritants or external conditions, as mentioned earlier. If you suffer from asthma, the muscle tends to overreact to the irritants, and you’ll experience an asthma attack.

When the muscle tightens, the airway narrows. It also gets clogged with mucus and the lining becomes swollen and inflamed. Normally, mucus in the airways is perfectly natural since it assists in the movement of air into the lungs. However, during an asthma attack, mucus production increases considerably, and it clogs the airway.

It’s hard to breathe when this accumulation of mucus is present. As long as the excess mucus is in place, the asthma attack won’t stop. That’s why it’s so important to treat your symptoms immediately with a prescribed medication.

Attacks are often only a few minutes in duration. A severe attack, though, can go on for hours or days. There will be intervals where you might not experience any symptoms, but they will soon return if you don’t receive the proper medication.

If you suspect you might have asthma, it’s essential that you visit your doctor immediately. Tests will be run in order to make an accurate diagnosis. As well, they’ll try to figure out what’s triggering the attacks. Once you know what your triggers are, it’s essential that you avoid them as much as possible. In order to avoid asthma attacks in the future, close medical supervision and a strong commitment to using the proper asthma treatment are essential. Never ignore the symptoms, because an asthma attack can be life threatening.
